How to read it
The thesis behind AlgoMint is that the coins worth accumulating are the ones that get burned as fuel. This page measures that fuel directly: the gas each chain collects in its native coin, from DefiLlama's chain-level fee data. Fees paid to apps on each chain are left out on purpose: they pay the app, not the network.
Dollars of gas, not transaction counts, are the unit, because chains price transactions very differently. A cheap chain can host a busy venue and still collect almost nothing. Shares are computed over the chains tracked that week. X Layer data starts in December 2024 and the XRP Ledger's in October 2024; before then they are left out, which moves the other shares by under 0.1 points.
Weeks before October 12, 2026 are reconstructed from DefiLlama's daily history. Where that history is missing a few days, a chain's 30-day total is scaled up from the days it has (at least 20 of 30); a week where a chain has fewer is left out. From October 12 on, each Monday's reading is recorded by the weekly research run. The weekly Insight covers what moved and why. This is observation, not a signal: nothing on this page changes what AlgoMint buys.
